The 2011 Cancer Walkathon is being held October 8, 2011 starting at 8:00am.
Goose Creek Resort, Waterway RV Resort and The Newport Moose Lodge started this walk was because we have all seen relatives, friends, coworkers, residents, strangers and even some of us have struggled with this deadly disease. Our goal is not to eliminate cancer, although we all wish we could. Our goal is to help local families that are struggling to pay bills, get treatments, and travel expenses to get to and from medical facilities. Most money that is collected for cancer walks goes to research, however ours will directly affect the lives of those in the community struggling on a daily basis. We are excited about this and hope we can encourage others to help us make this event successful.
You can join us by walking, donating in someone's memory, renting a vendor booth or help by volunteering.

All checks can be made out to: The Goose & The Moose. Please make sure as part of the paper work that you complete the assumption of risk liability form.
I want to thank Bill's Golf Cart out of Goldsboro, North Carolina for his donation of a Club Car Golf Cart. The golf cart is available to see at Goose Creek's office where it is on display. The raffle is $5.00 per ticket. You do not have to be present to win! The drawing will be held the day of the event and a third party will be doing the drawing for us.
